Why am I getting the error Link for Box 12 code P must be established?

Some TurboTax Online users are seeing an error that a link between Code P and their moving expense must be established and are not able to clear this error.

Solution

1. Log in to your account on TurboTax Online.
2. Make sure you have your expense information as you will need to re-enter it.
3. Select Tax Tools on the left side.
4. Select Tools then Delete Form.
5. Delete Form 3903.
6. Select Federal on the left side.
7. Select Wages & Income.
8. Select Edit/Add for the W2 with Code P in Box 12
9. Continue to the screen to enter the City Move To.
10. Enter the City Name.
11. Select Deductions and Credits at the top.
12. Go to the Other Deductions and Credits section.
13. Revisit the Moving section and re-enter your expenses.
14. Select Done.

The link from your moving expenses to your information in Box 12 (Code P) should be established at this point.
