You and your husband may qualify for an Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) even if you don't have children, depending on your adjusted gross income. You must file a joint tax return and meet other qualifications to claim this credit. The FAQ below lists the requirements for the earned income tax credit. You'll notice that the AGI (adjusted gross income) for which the EITC may be taken increases as children are claimed.
