When you enter your personal and dependent information TurboTax calculates your Child Tax Credit (CTC). Initially, TurboTax calculates your return as if you received the entire amount of CTC you were eligible to receive and no credit is applied. You will need to enter the amount of CTC you received, this will allow TurboTax to calculate any additional CTC you are entitled to and TurboTax will apply that credit to your tax return.
To enter the CTC you have received follow these steps:
Also, this credit phases out at certain income levels.
I had the same issue with my ctc and stimulus (newborn) and I did fill out the amount received like you suggested and I am well under the income restrictions, so I should receive the full amount. I noticed my ctc isn’t showing up on my 1040 even though it shows on my taxes in turbo tax. My return is more than $2k less than my ctc ands stimulus refund. I received a call from a turbo tax employee and she didn’t know what was wrong either but said that many people are having issues with this. When will this be resolved or who can assist me?
If you are not getting the stimulus or the child tax credit for your newborn in 2021, please verify your entries for your child:
If your child is correctly listed as your dependent and you meet the other requirements, you should receive the full $3,600 in Child Tax Credit and $1,400 stimulus once you revisit those sections.
To verify those amounts are on your tax return, you can preview your 1040:
everything you advised me to do on my return I have already done. It doesn’t change my refund which should be $9800 minimum

The refundable Child Tax Credit is entered on the Form 1040 Line 28. What is shown on your tax return?
Click on Tax Tools on the left side of the online program screen. Click on Tools. Click on View Tax Summary. Click on Preview my 1040 on the left side of the screen.
Yep. The other turbo tax reps couldn’t figure this out either. 28 shows 8400 30 shows 1400 and my tax summary shows nothing for tax credits.

Disregard the tax summary on the TurboTax interview page. What is important is what is entered on your tax return as that is what is going to be sent to the IRS.
My federal refund doesn’t show that I fully get that amount back. That’s my concern

Again look at your tax return.
Your tax refund is the difference between Line 24 and Line 33. Line 24 is your Total taxes and Line 33 is your Total tax payments. Subtract Line 24 from Line 33 and that is your federal tax refund.
Note - Line 33 includes Lines 25d, 26 and 32
Yes, and that leaves me with less than 8k return. Which means I am not showing a full return for my ctc and stimulus. That’s the concern.
Does anyone know the answer to this situation?

Line 29 and Line 30 are shown to have your eligible credits. These are not refunded to you separately for the full amounts. They are added to your other tax payments and then your total Taxes are subtracted from the Total payments. That is the tax code and that is how it is being shown on your Form 1040 and calculated on your Form 1040.
Ctc is fully refundable for 2022, so this is not correct
