TurboTax has recently completed an update. If you are using TurboTax Online, please try again. If you are using desktop software, ensure you have performed the latest update or manually update. Here are detailed instructions if needed: Manually Update TurboTax for Windows Software
I cannot file either. I am using Turbotax online. Customer service on phone is unable to say one way or other.

How do you "re-boot" Turbotax online version?
I’m using the online version and it still isn’t working. I followed the instructions to “repair” but when I review the forms before submitting Form 8283 is not included in the package.
This is now fixed but you will need to follow these steps to generate the form and/or fix your rejection:
If the form still does not appear in your Tax Summary:
Wow. After using TT for more than 20 years, this is the biggest "not-ready-for-prime-time" edition I've encountered. Turbo Tax Deluxe Desktop has same issue as above (IRS rejected return for TT not generating Form 8283 for non-cash donations over $500), even after installing latest update upon logon. [The 22 Dec manual update supposedly wasn't needed, as it was automatically installed when the program was bought in Jan.] The prompts alluded to for TT Online are not coming up in TT Desktop. What's the real fix for Desktop?
Separate issue: As of 3 days ago, clicking on ? for more info about SALT gave previous years' Help statement about SALT being limited to $10,000. Calculations in the program reflected correct $40,000 limit, but Help and More Info links are/were outdated.
