Is it ok to list my 47 year old child as a dependent? I pay more than half of his living expenses. He does not have a declared disability.

If he is not considered as totally and permanently disabled, he would have to have less then $5200 of Gross Income (some non-taxable things like non-taxable Social Security do NOT count towards that amount) in order for you to claim him as a dependent.

If you go through the dependent section, it will ask you the appropriate questions to determine if he qualifies as your dependent or not.
