Is filing tax needed? I am a resident alien who stayed in USA just for a month after receiving green card in Feb 2016. A full time student in foreign country, no income.

I became a green card holder in January end 2016 (also the first time I came to USA), but returned back to Nepal in February end 2016, since I had to complete my studies. Got married in March 2016, she is also a student in Nepal. After completing my studies, I returned back to USA in Dec 2016 without my spouse. Now, I stayed in USA for only around 1 month in 2016. I have no income in 2016 because i was a full time student in Nepal. My wife is a non-resident alien. In such case do I need to file the tax return. Thankyou...

Generally, if you have no income in a year, you do not have to file an income tax return for that year, click here for IRS guidelines for Do I have to file a return.
