I have unusual additional income this year and would like to model additional tax payments, can I start my 2017-2018 tax prep now ?

The software for 2017 tax returns will not become available until late November/early December. You can try using the tax caster tool to get an idea of what your tax situation will look like. Congress may change tax laws by then, however.

Just keep in mind that Congress may change the 2017 tax law.
