In 2014 I paid a lot of money on a coarse on how to invest in real estate. Is this expense deductable?

It depends whether you are a real estate professional or not.

Anyway, as the expense is from 2014, you can no longer claim it even if you were allowed to claim it. You can no longer amend your 2014 tax return.
