If your house is in foreclosure and you hadn't paid a house payment all year do you still claim the mortgage interest?

Unfortunately, you can only claim the mortgage interest if you paid it.  So if you paid it December 31st 2016, although you did not pay the house payment, you can claim it.  If you did not pay it, you cannot claim it.
