How can I add a donation if I have reviewed my return?

If you have already entered another donation, follow these steps.

  • Click on Federal in the left column
  • Click on Deductions and Credits
  • Click on the button beside "Donations to Charity in 2017"
  • Click on +Add Another Charity (See the screenshot below)
If this is the first donation you will enter, follow these steps:
  • Click on Federal in the left column
  • Click on Donations and Credits
  • Scroll to Charitable Donations and click on the Show more button
  • Click the button beside Donations to Charity in 2017
  • You will be asked, "Do you want to enter your donations for 2017?"  Click the Yes button.
  • Fill in the name of the organization the donation was made to and click on the button beside the type of donation you made.  (See the second screenshot below)
If cash, on the next screen you will be asked how often you gave and the amount.  If you gave Multiple times, different amounts you will be asked to enter the total of all your donations.
If you donated Items, Stock or Mileage & travel expenses, TurboTax will walk you through it.
