Are you referring to the home office deduction? If so, you cannot take this deduction if you were a W-2 employee.
If you were self-employed, you can take the home office deduction as long as the office area was used regularly and exclusively for the business activity.
Here’s how to make these entries:
- Under Income & Expenses (tab at the top of your screen), click Review next to Self-employment income and expenses (this assumes that you have already entered your self-employed income).
- Click Review again next to the specific self-employed activity and scroll down to the Expenses category.
- Click Review/Start/Edit next to Home office.
