If I spent over $6000 on windows and insulation for my home in 2018 how come it says that I do not qualify for the Home Energy Credit?

Unfortunately, the federal $500 Nonbusiness Energy Property Tax Credit for energy-efficient improvements like windows, doors, skylights, insulation, roofing products, nonsolar water heaters, heating, ventilating, and cooling systems wasn't renewed for tax year 2018.

The Home Energy Credit is now focused almost entirely on solar and other renewable energy improvements.
