If I have my primary residence paid off, should I enter in property taxes paid and fire/hazard insurance? If so how and where?

I have two rentals and one second home and I have handled these with their 1098s.  The question is for the state of California, if it matters.

You cannot enter fire and hazard insurance you paid for your personal residence.  It is not deductible.   You can enter the property tax you paid for your own home.  The federal deduction  for that is capped at $10,000.

Go to Federal> Deductions and Credits> Your Home

The property tax on your main home and second home are listed separately from the rentals. The insurance on those two homes are not deductible. Visit 2023 Instructions for Schedule CA (540) or 2023 Instructions for Schedule CA (540NR) for more information.
