If I have a $7800 energy credit and a $7800 refund, will I get my credit as an addition to my refund?

It depends.

The total refund you are getting back is the amount shown in the Federal Tax due / refund meter. See the attached screenshot. If it shows $7,800 in the box, you will not receive the credit in addition to the $7,800. The credit is already included in this refund.
