If earned income was between 2-3 thousand, I would not qualify for child tax credit?
If the earned income of $2000 to $3000 is the only taxable income that you had, then the standard deduction of $6300 and the personal exemption of $4050 would get subtracted from that income so you would have no tax liability for the child tax credit to be applied to. When there is no tax liability, sometimes an individual can qualify for the additional child tax credit. However, to be eligible for this credit you have to have earned income that is over $3000.
