I would love to do the e-file and claim treaty benefits. Can I add a form8833 to my federal tax return into the prepared federal tax return file electronically ?

Unfortunately, you cannot Electronically file your Tax Return through TurboTax if it includes Form 8833.  You can prepare your Tax Return and add Form 8833 using TurboTax, but you will need to mail it in.

After printing out my federal tax return documents, the Turbo tax instruction on the first page indicates that I should mail the tax returns to the IRS at Kansas City. However, I saw some posts online that if I attach Form8833, I can only mail my tax documents and form8833 to the following address:

Internal Revenue Service

Austin Service Center

[removed][social security number removed]

Is that correct?

The form 8833 must be attached to your return and mailed to the address where you would normally file your return.
