I worked as an uber driver but whenever I enter my my expenses my refund goes down. Secondly could I file jointly while using self employed. Please inform me. Thanks.

Yes you can file married filing jointly using self-employed. There is a personal section to enter your personal information in and then the business section to add the income/expenses for the business.
When you increase your deductions and expenses it will decrease your income and you might not be getting as many credits as you did before which can reduce the refund you are getting.
