Some employee expenses may be deductible. To qualify for the deduction, only the cost of the supplies that exceeds 2 percent of your Adjusted Gross income can be deducted.

To deduct job related expenses, follow the steps below:
- Sign into Turbotax and click Take me to my return
- Select Federal Taxes.
- Select Deductions & Credits, and in the next screen, click I'll choose what I work on.
- On the Deductions & Credits choose Employment Expenses.
- Click on the Start button next to Job-Related Expenses.
