For example if a new alternator cost you $80 and you use your car for work for about 60% of your miles, you can deduct $48 of the cost(60% of $80 or .6 x 80). 7. Continue through the screens, only entering information that applies and you are not reimbursed for until you arrive to a screen asking "Do You Want to Enter Your Actual Expenses?", answer "Yes". On the next page enter your repair expenses in the Repairs/ Maintenance box
8. Continue entering your information until finished
