I submitted our return, and noticed there was no section for donations when I was doing our taxes? Are donations no longer applicable in a tax return? We live in Texas.

Charity donations are still an itemized tax deduction.

Along with mortgage interest, property taxes medical expenses and state/local taxes, charity deductions remain as itemized deductions. 

However, with the increased standard deductions ($12,000 for single filers and $24,000 for married filers), they are not having the impact they had in previous years.
