I sold my home at a loss. It says I have to upgrade to enter information for a gain. Do I still have to upgrade if it was a loss? Can I skip this section?

A loss on the sale of a personal residence is not reported on tax return, unless you received a Form 1099-S for the sale (gain or loss).  Or the residence has been used as a rental or in a business, then the sale has to be reported (gain or loss)
