I want to make sure that I am understanding. Are you saying that you and your brother co-owned a house together that you sold? You didn't get any of the proceeds, he received all of the money? Please clarify so we may assist you.
I helped my brother refinance his house to take money out of it in 2020 for my moms medical bills so I was added to the loan. Last year my brother sold his house and he received 100% sale proceeds and I received nothing because I was only an owner on paper never wanted anything to do with his house. I never received a 1099S form and just wanted to know should I report sale on my taxes even though I received zero sale proceeds.
It appears that you are not an owner of this house. You are only the co-borrower or the co-signor on a loan taken on the house.
As such, you do not have to report anything about the sale of the house on your tax return.
