Form 8889 reports on events with your Health Savings Account (HSA). If you have on your W-2 an entry in box 12 with a code of W, you have an HSA. You must file Form 8889 if any of the following applies.
Because the IRS requires the 8889 to be attached to the 1040, TurboTax requires Deluxe or higher versions.
Turbo tax keeps taking back to form 8889 and wants me to check the box for "You acquired an interest in an HSA because of the death of the account beneficiary"
I have not acquired any such account - but it will not allow me past it
If i select No Entry, it just take me back to it during the final check
Thank you - I was able to complete my filing, disregard prior post
