I received a 1099-Div form for my Acorns account. The total dividends was $3.90 and foreign tax withheld was $0.03 Do I have to report this on my 1040?

It's such a small amount - this is my first year of having an Acorns account - and I was hoping to be able to just file the 1040a form this year.

The part that makes me hesitate is that line 2c Unrecaptured Section 1250 gain is only $0.09 and from what I understand, I have to fill out a completely separate form just for nine measly cents.

To file a complete tax return, you are required to report all income received for the year.

That being said, are you likely to be contacted by the IRS if you did not report dividend income of less than $5?  Not likely, but it is possible.  If you decide not to include it on your return, keep the paperwork for your records.
