Yes, city taxes are deductible as well as the property taxes and mortgage interest you paid on your new house. 

Keep in mind these are itemized deductions which must exceed your standard deduction ($12,000 for single filers and $24,000 for married filers), before you will notice a difference in your tax return.

Also note the document transfer fee is not deductible.

For property tax deductible, there is a limit of $10,000 for 2018. Is city tax considered as part of property tax and applied with the same limit?
