I pay real estate taxes through my mortgage (on my 1098). I also have a small real estate tax bill from the town I live in, where should that be entered?

You enter the 1098 Real estate tax bill as a part of your 1098 entry.

Then when you finish with that, you go ahead and put in that Extra tax bill separately under the "Property Taxes" section which covers any extra real-estate taxes you may have had to pay.  Don't add them together in either section

You enter the 1098 Real estate tax bill as a part of your 1098 entry.

OK. So under "Property Taxes" the amount from my 1098 gets auto-filled in under "Your Main Home." I included the extra tax bill as a second line item which covers "Other Property." Is this correct?

oh wow...they've messed up the 1098 Forms in the last software update.

stick it under "Other " for now, that should be OK......or leave it out entirely wait a few weeks to see what the eventual software fixes get pushed down.  I would say to add it to Main Home now...but something strange has changed in the interview in the last week.
