I pay for my child speech thru intuit quickbook how can i put it on my taxes

I believe you mean you pay for your child's speech therapy, which would qualify as a medical expense itemized deduction. To be beneficial to you on your federal tax return, however, the total of your medical expenses are only allowed as a deduction to the extent they are greater than 7.5% of your adjusted gross income. Also, your itemized deductions are only beneficial if they are more than your standard deduction, which in 2023 is normally $13,850 for single filers and $27,700 if are filing a joint return with your spouse ($20,800 if filing as a head of household) .

 

The deduction may be allowed on your state return however, even if not allowed on your federal tax return. You enter it in the Deductions and Credits section of TurboTax, which is in the Federal portion of the program. Look down the list of deductions until you see Medical, and then Medical Expenses
