I paid for my daughters childcare expenses and when I entered that I paid for it there was no option for me to enter the amount so I can claim the taxes. How do I fix it

It depends. Have you entered any income yet or are you waiting for your W2's? You need to enter income first before you can claim any credits or deductions. Turbo tax won't allow you to add these expenses until you declare income.

I have received my w2 already and I am currently filing. I entered that I paid for my daughters childcare but there’s nowhere for me to enter the amount I paid for the year.

Try this.

1. Log into Turbo Tax
2. Go to federal>deductions and credits>all tax breaks
3. You and your family>dependent care credit>start
4. Answer the questions as they appear on your screen.
5. If you don't get to a screen asking you for expenses, please read this IRS source to see if your child actually qualifies for the credit.
