I paid childcare expenses for my daughter that I'm not claiming this year. How do I still get the childcare credit?

If the child for which you paid the childcare expenses was not your dependent, you cannot claim the credit.  According to the IRS The care must have been provided for one or more qualifying persons. A qualifying person is your dependent child age 12 or younger when the care was provided.  Unfortunately you can't claim the Child and Dependent Care Credit.
