I owed property tax. A company paid them. I had to pay that company the past tax money to keep my home. Is it possible to claim this?

If you paid a collection agency for the past due property taxes in 2017, you can deduct the portion of the payments that is strictly for the property taxes.
Other fees such as penalties, interest, collections fees, etc. are not deductible.
