It is possible that you have have doubled the amount of your HSA contributions.
Does Schedule 1 Part II line 13 and Federal tax return 1040 line 10 include income that was not previously reported?
You can review the 1040 in TurboTax Online by following these directions:
When reporting HSA contributions under Federal / Deductions & Credits / Medical / HSA MSA Contributions, did you report the amount in box 12 of the W-2 at the screen Let's enter xxx HSA contributions? If so, you may have doubled the amount of your contributions.
Thanks for the suggestion. I don't see any doubled up amounts. This seems to be coming from form 8889, line 9, 11 and Other income Statement, Line f, 1 and 3. What's confusing is that I haven't made any distributions from my HSA(Taxable HSA Distributions from Form 1099-SA), so this amount should be zero, correct? Yes, my employer made contributions to my HSA (noted on W-2 as W- and the amount deposited), but nothing was removed by me.
In addition, Part, VII, is showing that my excess contributions for 22 are $3,650 under box 47 and 48. The max allowed contribution is that amount, so there should be no excess contribution on my part. There does seem to be some sort of duplication going on, since it's implying that I contributed two times my allowable amount.
As JamesG1 says above, I suspect you have entered your HSA twice - once when you entered your W2 and again on the Let's Enter Your HSA Contributions.
When reporting HSA contributions under Federal / Deductions & Credits / Medical / HSA MSA Contributions, did you report the amount in box 12 of the W-2 at the screen Let's enter xxx HSA contributions? If so, you may have doubled the amount of your contributions.
Only enter the amount when you are entering your W2, box 12, code W. Don't enter that amount anywhere else. TurboTax will carry the number over automatically from your W2 entry.
The HSA is handled in 3 parts in the TT program :
First the contribution:

Next the limitations screen to confirm you are eligible to make the contributions:
Until you complete the HSA portion of the TurboTax interview to establish your eligibility for an HSA contribution, TurboTax will treat the amount entered on the W-2 form as an excess HSA contribution.

And lastly any distribution:
Even though I didn't have any medical expenses, I still had to click "yes" for the software to walk me through the HSA deductions section. Once done, the 3650 now reads as non-taxable.
Thanks everyone!
