I need to delete sale of business property and reenter it?

You can delete your sale by following the same steps here to enter a sale. When you get to your original sale delete it, follow through to the end of that section before you start again to re-enter it.

Sale of Business Property:

1. Income and Expenses at the top
2. Scroll down to Other Business Situations
   • For TurboTax Desktop: Business Income and Expenses > Less Common Business Situations
3. Select Sale of Business Property
4. Select Sales of business or rental property that you haven't already reported.
5. Answer 'Yes' to Do all of the following apply...?
6. Enter your sales information:
   1. Description of the Property (Machine Type)
   2. Sales Price/Sales Expenses 
   3. Date acquired and date sold
   4. Cost
   5. Depreciation

Thank you for your help with this question. When I follow these instructions, my existing sale that I'm trying to get rid of never shows up. It only asks me to add additional sales. Any suggestions?

Does Form 4797 appear in your list of forms? You can check this as follows:

1. Log into TurboTax Online and open your return.
2. In the left column, choose Tax Tools >> Tools >> Delete a Form.
3. Scroll through the list of forms to see if Form 4797 appears.
4. If you entered no other Sale of Business Property, you can delete Form 4797 from this list.
5. If Form 4797 isn't in the list, then your entries were either not saved or you have successfully removed them.
6. Click Back to return to the main screens.
