If you are a US citizen or green card holder, you will need to file a US tax return every year declaring your worldwide income.

The foreign tax credit can reduce the amount of U.S. income tax you owe on money you earned from a foreign source. To qualify, you must have paid, or owe, taxes on the income to the country where it was earned.

You will have to enter your Chinese wages into the foreign earned income section.  I assume it was not on a W-2.

Enter foreign earned income exclusion in the search box at the top of the screen and click Jump to foreign income.  You need to enter your wages here.  Keep going through the screens until it asks you if you want to see if you qualify for the foreign earned income exclusion.  Say no (you don't qualify this  year).  The program will still keep track of your foreign wages.

You will need to enter your foreign taxes in the foreign tax credit section of TurboTax.

Enter foreign tax credit in the Search bar at the top of your screen and click Jump to.

Go through the screens and answer the questions.  The tax on your wages is considered General Limitation Income.
