Yes, there's a federal tax credit designed for low- to moderate-income individuals called the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). It’s a refundable credit, which means it can reduce your tax to zero and you may receive a refund even if you don’t owe any tax based on your personal circumstances.

 

The EITC is based on your earned income, filing status, and number of qualifying children (if any), and there are income limits to qualify. This credit is automatically calculated by TurboTax as you put in your income and personal details.
