  1. Go to federal>deductions and credits
  2. under your tax breaks, you should see an entry that says "Home Energy Credits" Select edit
  3. The first screen should ask if you made energy efficient improvements in 2019.  indicate "No."
  4. Turbo Tax should inform you that you have no energy improvements and will ask you if you wish to delete form 5695, answer "yes."

Form 5695, Residential Energy Credits, is not yet ready for 2019. To delete the form in TurboTax Online, try two different options:

  1. Under Federal, Click on Deductions & Credits
  2. Under Your Home, Click Start/Revisit next to Home Energy Credits
  3. This screen will list information regarding the credit. At the bottom, answer No, we did not make energy -efficient improvements or have a carryforward

This process should eliminate the need to proceed with the form. The other option is to use the Tools feature in TurboTax Online to delete that specific form:

  1. Under Tax Tools, choose Tools
  2. Choose Delete a Form
  3. Scroll through your return until you find Form 5695, click Delete to the right of the form
  4. Confirm that you wish to delete the form

I did that at least 4 times. It still shows as yes, taking the credit. I am wondering if there is a glitch in my program.

I believe I am no longer eligible to take the credit because I have done so for 5 years now.
