I live overseas in Germany and work for the Dept. of Defense. My childcare expense is from a local national with no EIN or SSN. How can I claim childcare with no SSN?

There is a box that you check in TurboTax that indicates that the provider was a foreign care provider.

In TurboTax for Child Care Credit:

1. When it asks whether a person or an organization provided the care, the instructions on that page for  What if I live abroad and paid someone to care for my dependents? The response to that question on the screen is to choose organization (not person, even if it was a foreign person that provided the care).
2. On the next screen choose Foreign Provider
3. Click Continue for the Foreign Provider's name and address.
