I live in Illinois, but owned a house in Maryland. I sold it last year and paid taxes in Maryland on the sale. Do I also have to pay taxes in Illinois on that income?

Yes you do however if you complete the MD non resident return first you get a credit on the IL resident return for the taxes paid to MD.
