I listed my Medicare Part B premiums in the SSA1099 but then also again in Medical insurance premiums. How do I go back and take them out of there?

UPDATED FOR TAX YEAR 2019

If you are receiving Social Security benefits, TurboTax automatically transfers the premiums paid for Medicare Part B to your Schedule A.  You do not need to enter these amounts again.  Just include the premiums for any supplemental policy you may have.

To go back and remove the Medicare Part B premiums from your medical expenses, please follow these steps:

  1. Click on Taxes > Deductions & Credits
  2. In the Medical section, click on the Start/Revisit box next to Medical Expenses.
  3. On the screen, Did you spend more than [XX] on medical expenses in 20XX? click the Yes box.
  4. Continue through the interview until you come to a screen, Enter Insurance Premiums, where you can delete your entry.
