You can download a copy of your return and check if you entered it.

To get the whole return with all the worksheets please log back in your TurboTax account and "add a state" to open the return back up (you are not really adding a state, just to open it back up), then select Tools, Print Center and choose the print center, then select returns and choose the radio button to include all worksheets.

If you didn't enter it and believe it will make a difference in your return then it depends on if your return gets rejected or accepted.

If your return has been rejected by the IRS, all you will have to do is make the changes on your return and refile.

If your return has been already accepted by the IRS, you will have to file an amended return (1040X) to make changes. But you might want to wait until your refund or payment is processed. The IRS will only accept amended returns via mail.

Look at Schedule A.  Is it there?

I reviewed my worksheets. I missed entering the mortgage interest info somehow.  Will this cause an audit because it was missed?  I just E-filed tonight, too soon to know if was accepted or rejected.

No, this will not cause an audit. You are not required to enter the information since you can always choose Standard Deduction instead of using the Itemized Deduction.

Did you receive a 1098 form?

ah, ok. so need to panic?  I did choose standard deductions, so this means I don't need to enter the mortgage interest, correct?

correct, if you use the Standard Deduction then you do not need to enter the mortgage interest at all.
