There is not a home energy credit for a wood burning stove.
IRS Form 5695 Residential Energy Credits instructions - https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/i5695.pdf
If you made energy-efficient improvements to your home in 2021, such as like furnaces, boilers, biomass stoves, heat pumps, water heaters, central air conditioners, and circulating fans, the tax credit is 26 percent of the costs for assembly, preparation, and installation as well as piping and wiring.
Please follow the steps below to enter your biomass fuel stove cost:
Biomass should include wood an wood pellet?
1) Maybe, but it must have an efficiency rating of 75% or greater....otherwise it doesn't get a credit.
2) Come-on guys, the Biomass energy credit line (26%) isn't implemented the current interview yet... It is "supposed" to be ready on/after 27 January....but we won't know until then.
A line should show up on the page with the Solar Credits...which are also 26%ers.
DO NOT enter as an "Energy-Efficient Building Property" , That's where it went last year, but that section is only for 10%ers.
