I haven't received my 1098 from the USDA yet. If I know that I will be taking the standard deduction (not itemizing) do I still need to enter my mortgage interest?

Due to partial shutdown, I don't know if I will get 1098.  I want to file right away, but don't know the amount of interest I paid last year.  Does it really matter if I will just be taking the standard deduction?

If you know you are not going to itemize, you do not need to enter mortgage interest on the tax return.
