I have never had a day care claim. Why is the software forcing me to fill out day care?

Are you deducting expenses of a home office?

Yes, but I have a consulting business.  Not a day care which it keeps defaulting to.

I just want to claim the home office.

Go back through and revisit the interview questions related to the Home Office. When you reach the screen that says "Is.....a daycare provider" make sure "No" is selected.  (see sample screenshot below).

yes but when Turbo tax does the final check it always comes up with daycare which I do NOT have and won't let me delete any numbers

Revisit the home office section and make sure you answer No to the question Was any part of this home used as a daycare?

1. Go to Federal Taxes.
2. Go to Income and Expenses.
3. Self self employment.
4. Scroll down to the expenses section and click Edit/revisit next to home office.
