The cost of home improvements on a personal residence, not used as a rental or in a business, are not reported on your tax return.  The improvement costs are added to the basis of the home when it is sold.

Improvements to your own home are not deductible.   Keep all your records of the expenses to add to your cost basis when you sell the house someday.   The exceptions might be certain energy saving improvements like a new windows, new furnace, HVAC system, etc.----so if you made any of those sorts of improvements provide some details.  But remodeling your kitchen, or a bathroom, for example, is not deductible.
