I have a tax question about what I can deduct on my federal taxes

I am a homeowner in Massachusetts and I replaced my septic system in 2016 at a cost of $14,700 to meet title 5 requirements and yes, I am getting a Massachusetts tax deduction for that. My question is: Can I deduct any of those expenses on my federal itemized deductions? If yes, where? Thanks,

Unfortunately although you spent a lot of money fixing your home, I do not think you can claim any of that for a deduction.  I think the system does not meet requirements for going green or any of the federal credits that they are giving at this time.  Should it have been a replacement to a investment property you could claim this without problem.
