The IRS portal will be ready later in the summer so that you can add a child who was born in 2021. That portal is not yet ready. You will need the child's Social Security number.

Congratulations on the birth of your baby. Currently the IRS is basing the Advanced CTC payments on children who were claimed on 2020 tax returns or born in 2020. Sometime in late August or September the IRS is planning to have updates to the Manage the ACTC payments portal to allow taxpayers to add the information for children born in 2021.
Use the Manage Payments portal to:
- Check if you are enrolled to receive payments
- Un-enroll to stop getting advance payments
- Provide or update your bank account information for monthly payments starting with the August payments
