I had alot of medical bills, expenses and prescriptions, as far as i know everything was covered under my insurance except some of the bills. can i deduct this?

Yes, you will be able to claim a deduction for any medical expenses that were not reimbursed by insurance.

However, You will only get a tax benefit from these medical expenses if the total of all deductible medical expense is over the 7.5% AGI medical limitation and only if you itemize.

TurboTax will guide you on entering all of your medical expenses so include everything you paid out-of-pocket including prescriptions, glasses, dentist bills, etc.

To enter medical expenses in TurboTax, log into your tax return (for TurboTax Online sign-in, click Here and click on "Take me to my return") type "medical expenses" in the search bar then select "jump to medical expenses". TurboTax will guide you in entering this information.
