I had a child in March and did not receive a stimulus check for her. How do I get a stimulus for her added to my taxes?

Just enter her as your dependent on the 2020 tax return in the My Info section of the program.  Make sure that you have selected that she lived with you for the whole year.

TurboTax will ask you about the stimulus payment you received in 2020 after completing the Other Tax Situations section.

Easy.  Claim your child born in 2020 on your 2020 tax return.  The money people received this year was based on 2018 and 2019 return so could not include babies born in 2020.  But it was an advance on a credit you can get on your 2020 return.  Enter your child as a dependent in My Info and enter her Social Security number.  YOu will see the credit on line 30 of your Form 1040.

The stimulus check is an advance on a credit you can receive on your 2020 tax return.  If something went wrong or you did not get the stimulus check this year, you can get it when you file your 2020 return in early 2021—if you are eligible.It will end up on line 30 of your 2020 Form 1040.
