Did you have enough itemized deductions to exceed your standard deduction? If not, the charity donation will have no effect.

The "the $200 charitable deduction" is no longer available (you cannot claim it on your 2022 tax return).
The "above the line" deduction (technically adjustment to income) was a temporary Covid era thing.
Charitable contributions can now only be claimed as an itemized deduction.
If you're over age 70.5, making an charitable contribution from your IRA is a tax advantaged option ("Qualified Charitable Distribution" [QCD]), for the future (too late to do it for 2022).
