I forgot to add child care ID number

I forgot to add the tax ID number for the place my son goes to for their after school program. Will my return get rejected? Do I need to amend it?

If you have already filed your tax return, you would first need to wait and see if your tax return is accepted or rejected.

If for some reason your tax return is rejected you can go back and add the information and re-submit your tax return. If accepted, you will be fine. You don't have to worry about Amending your tax return. Just be sure to keep the number available in your records in case the IRS ever asks about it.

I e-filed and it was accepted the same day. I just don't want to receive a letter in the mail stating I need to fix something if I could already just amend it if needed. Thanks for the reply!
