If you are being asked about an HSA, try this. Under Wages & Income, expand the menu for Less Common Income. Click Start/Revisit next to 1099-SA, HSA, MSA. The next screen will ask about ownership and any accounts you had. Uncheck anything that may be checked.

Also, you can try deleting a form.

  • Click on Tax Tools from the menu on the left
  • Click on Tools
  • Choose Delete a Form
  • Scroll through the list until you find HSA related forms and click Delete

If you have a W-2, verify that you do not have anything in box 12 with code W. That indicates HSA contributions.

I dont and didn’t an have an hsa account

I do not have the "My Account" button on my version and tools does not have a delete a form. How do I delete HSA information as I did not have an HSA for 2021. There is apparently and entry in that area and which then leads me to another screen that says that I over contributed.

I have answered the question regarding which high deductible plan I had and if I had an HSA, but it continues to give me an error regarding how much I over contributed.

HELP please

It seems you are using a desktop version of TurboTax.  To delete a form in one of these versions you can follow these steps:

  1. Within your tax return, use the Forms icon in the upper right of the screen to switch to forms mode.
  2. Scroll through the list on the left to find Form 8889, Health Savings Accounts, and select it
  3. Click the Delete Form button at the bottom of the preview pane to delete the form with the HSA information.
